CA-Clipper Compiler Kit for dBASE IV
2.0 (11-06-93 02:00:00)
(formerly Matt Whelan's Compiler Kit, dBASE IV
Edition)
According to the book written by Larry Heimendinger, former
President of
Nantucket Software - "Advanced Clipper", the first version was
Clipper
Winter '84, shipped on May 25, 1985.
In "Advanced Clipper" by Larry Heimendinger is a complete history of
the
development of Clipper and Nantucket is outlined.
The very first Clipper version was Winter '84 (shipped May '85) and
had
a manual of.... 54 pages (knowledge of dBASEIII was assumed). Winter
'85: 200 pages of documentation, additions of VALID clause and
SAVE/RESTORE SCREEN commands. Autumn '86 added the "==" operator,
one-dimensional arrays, and usage of functions as commands. Summer
'87
(released after Christmas) brought further enhancements and a
completely
revised documentation. I don't know about any patches, I know about
them
only from the BBS's...
Clipper 5.0 was announced at the June 1989 Clipper Developer's
Conference in Los Angeles, by Nantucket.
